2022 Ends with Tiki Loco’s Closure

One of the best vegan places in Dallas, Tiki Loco, will unfortunately be closing their doors this 2023 according to a Dallas Morning News article. They report,

“Tiki Loco, a vegan restaurant that opened in Deep Ellum in 2018, will close at the start of the new year, as first reported by CultureMap.

The Dallas restaurant’s final day of service will be Jan. 3, according to a post on the restaurant’s Instagram page.

“After trying to maintain a business during a pandemic, declining foot traffic and increasing costs, we are forced to shift gears, and have made the heartbreaking decision to close our restaurant,” the post said.

Tiki Loco has been known not just in Deep Ellum for their vegan options but also for their incredible owners and of course, the atmosphere according to a CultureMap Dallas article which says,

“Tiki Loco opened in 2018 with a focus on vegan and healthy food, although it earned just as much attention for its celebrity ties, including being co-owned by tattoo artists Dean Williams and Oliver Peck, owners of Elm Street Tattoo shop also in Deep Ellum. People love celebrities.

The restaurant served both vegan and GF food as well as local coffee from White Rock Coffee. The menu featured tacos, nachos, smoothies, juice, grab-and-go items, and even cocktails, with happy hour deals.

Its combination of fresh food, cheerful atmosphere, and friendly hipster staff was so winning that the restaurant earned a nomination for Best Neighborhood Restaurant in CultureMap’s annual Tastemaker Awards in 2022.”

But of course, Tiki Loco will finish strong as they plan to serve full time to cater one last time to their loyal friends, customers and fans.
