Fletcher’s to Operate Food Truck in Downtown Dallas

Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs will sell corny dogs in downtown Dallas at Klyde Warren Park permanently according to a CultureMap Dallas article which reports,

“State Fair of Texas classic Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs will be selling its corny dogs in downtown Dallas on a regular basis. According to a release, they’ll set up a food truck at Klyde Warren Park (KWP) later this fall.

The park is known for hosting food trucks regularly on the downtown side of the park in Food Truck Lane. But Fletcher’s won’t be with those food trucks. Fletcher’s will get its own berth opposite Food Truck Lane, in a special location on the East Lawn, by a soon-to-be-revealed new fountain called the Nancy Best Fountain.”

Fletcher’s tested out the food-truck model in 2020 to make money and to lift people’s spirits during the pandemic according to a Dallas Morning News article. They say,

“Fletcher’s successfully tested out the food-truck model starting in 2020, when its employees drove around North Texas, selling corny dogs that people would wait an hour for. The idea was to lift people’s spirits during the pandemic — and to make some money because the State Fair of Texas was canceled that year. The Fletcher family knew they were on to something.

The Fletcher’s truck will be on the East Lawn, between Pearl and Olive streets, near a new “super fountain” that will open in mid-September. Sawers expects crowds to increase at the park because of the fountain.”

Fletcher’s will be serving for seven days a week starting in October 2022. They sold from 11 am to 7 pm on August 26 to celebrate.
