After successfully taking down Royse City in a thrilling game, Frisco is set to face South Oak Cliff for the 4th straight year according to a Dallas Morning News article from November 12 which reports,
Frisco is headed for a fourth straight showdown with South Oak Cliff after overpowering Royse City for a 48-28 victory in their bi-district playoff game at The Star on Friday night.
“Big first step tonight,” Frisco coach Jeff Harbert said. “We kind of came out and established ourselves. We have been a little bit sluggish the last month of the season. We had a good week of practice and kind of got our groove back tonight.”
Frisco seized control by building a 34-7 lead in the first half, scoring on all five possessions. Offensively Frisco had 35 snaps and did not have one negative yardage play besides two five-yard penalties.”
On the other hand, South Oak Cliff had just crushed Everman’s dreams to make it through the third round after raising crucial defensive stops according to a Dallas Morning News article from November 11 which reports,
“After two crucial stops when the deficit was already seven points, the defense accounted for the go-ahead touchdown with a four-yard fumble return by junior defensive back Adul Muhammad in South Oak Cliff’s 49-28 victory over Everman in a Class 5A Division 2 Region II bi-district playoff Thursday night at Kincaide Stadium.
The defense forced three turnovers and shut down Everman’s running game, allowing no points in the final two quarters.
It marks the second time in a four-year span South Oak Cliff has ended Everman’s season in the bi-district playoff round.”
As the two teams prepare for their fourth showdown, Frisco looks to increase their victories against SOC to 3-1 while SOC is aiming to make it a tie 2-2 with their 2018 win against Frisco.
