Lachuné Boyd Advances on ‘America’s Got Talent

Southwestern Baptist Seminary student Lachuné Boyd impressed on ‘America’s Got Talent’ with her rendition of Coldplay’s ‘Yellow,’ earning praise from all judges, including Simon Cowell, according to a Roys Report article which reports, 

 

“A student from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has made it past the auditions on America’s Got Talent.

 

Lachuné Boyd, the daughter of a pastor and Master of Music student, sang Coldplay’s song, ‘Yellow’ during her audition.

 

 All four judges were blown away by Boyd’s performance. Simon Cowell said it was a fantastic audition”

 

Boyd, a Fort Worth resident studying at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, impressed judges by singing Coldplay’s “Yellow” on America’s Got Talent, according to a Dallas Morning News article that reports, 

 

““As a teacher, you’re always sitting on the opposite side of the piano and saying, ‘Take the initiative, don’t get too comfortable, go for it, be yourself,’” Boyd told the judges. “Today is about coming out here, taking initiative and being with my students.”

 

The 31-year-old voice teacher was born and raised in South Carolina, but for the last four years she has called Fort Worth home. She is studying to earn her master’s in music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.”

 

The judges praised Boyd’s performance on AGT, with Heidi Klum commending her for showcasing her true self and expressing potential beyond the surface.
