PGA Frisco Resort’s Milestone

PGA Frisco Resort’s Milestone

Even during the pandemic, developers, architectures and crews alike have poured efforts to finish the grand resort and fruitfully, they achieved PGA’s halfway milestone according to a Community Impact article from February 11. They say,

“Hundreds of workers in bright orange and yellow vests congregated Feb. 11 in what will soon be the ballroom of the Omni PGA Frisco Resort to celebrate the topping out of the hotel building.

In addition to the team, executives from Omni Hotels and Brasfield & Gorrie, the contractor, watched a crane lift an evergreen to the top of the structure that has just under 400 days left of construction as part of a traditional ceremony among builders.

“This hotel is obviously the crown jewel of what we have out here, but other than this, there’s 34 individual structures here on site,” Tyler Davis, project manager at Brasfield & Gorrie, said at the ceremony. “At this point, we’ve completed 10 of those.”

“There’s not a project like this being built in North America,” said Jeff Smith, vice president and managing director of the Omni PGA Frisco Resort. “It’ll rival any notable golf resort, literally in North America, but this is Frisco, so we know it’s going to be No. 1.”

Meanwhile, one of the developers of the long-awaited resort, SB Architects, also took part in the milestone of PGA according to an eTurbo News article from February 14 which reports,

“SB Architects, an international architecture firm known for creating spaces that capture the history, culture, and context of each location, is thrilled to celebrate the recent topping out of the new Omni PGA Frisco Resort, mixed-use development in Frisco, Texas. Scheduled for completion in 2023, the design for the destination golf course, 510-room Omni PGA Frisco Resort, and premier golf and retail experience, will usher in a new era for the sport. Inspired by Texas Modernism, the architecture is timeless with contemporary touches to reflect the future-thinking approach of the development.

“We’re excited to hit this important milestone for the Omni PGA Frisco Resort. This topping-out ceremony represents the culmination of a design process that began in January 2019. It’s been SB Architects’ pleasure to spearhead this effort and to collaborate with an industry leading group of hospitality professionals, to create a cutting-edge destination resort that will reposition and modernize golf in America, serving as an exciting benchmark for future development.” says SB Architects Senior Vice President and Principal, Bruce Wright.”

Senior Project Manager, Chris Hartman, took recognition of the entire team and crews who continuously poured concrete every day which granted them the expedited development and the celebrated milestone.
