After operating since September 2019, Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse, an upscale barbecue joint in Plano, closed its doors on April 4, 2024, according to a Dallas Morning News article. They say,
“Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse in Plano, an upscale barbecue restaurant at the Dallas North Tollway and W. Parker Road, closed after service on April 4, 2024.
The restaurant had been open in West Plano since September 2019. It comes from Pappas Restaurants, a Houston-based, family-owned company that operates Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Pappasito’s Cantina, Pappas Bar-B-Q, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse and others.”
Pappas Restaurants’ VP of Marketing, Christina Pappas, expressed gratitude to the Plano community and announced the closure of Pappas Delta Blues. Team members are offered transfers, according to a CultureMap Dallas article. In it they say,
“Pappas Restaurants VP of Marketing Christina Pappas said in a statement that “it’s been a pleasure serving the Plano community, and we appreciate every single one who dined with us at Pappas Delta Blues over the years. While not an easy decision to arrive at, we have decided to close this location. Our incredible team members at this restaurant were first and foremost in our minds when this decision was made and have been offered a transfer to Pappas Restaurant locations around the DFW area. Our Webster Pappas Delta Blues location remains open, and we invite you to come by when you’re in the Houston area.”
It remains uncertain if the Pappas family will open another restaurant in the same location. Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse closed on April 4, 2024.
