Sushi by Scratch, an omakase restaurant, opens in December at Dallas’ Adolphus Hotel. With a $165-per-person experience, reservations are in high demand, according to a Dallas Morning News article which reports,
“Reservations will go quickly at Dallas’ new Sushi by Scratch, an omakase restaurant that opens in December 2023. Like, fast: In Seattle, 100,000 people were on the wait list before the 10-seat restaurant even started selling its first 17 courses of food, chef and co-owner Phillip Frankland Lee said last night.
In Dallas, the $165-per-person experience is tucked inside a hotel room on the eighth floor of the Adolphus downtown.”
Sushi by Scratch, part of the Scratch Restaurants Group, originated as a pop-up in Los Angeles. With recent success in Beverly Hills, it expands to Dallas at The Adolphus hotel, according to a CultureMap Dallas article. In it they say,
“Part of Scratch Restaurants Group, Sushi By Scratch began as a pop-up in Los Angeles, and now boasts 10 outposts in cities across the U.S., with the most recent opening at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, in an arrangement similar to the one in Dallas.
“Following the recent success of our Beverly Wilshire Hotel pop-up and our longstanding aspiration to bring our sushi concept to more Texans, the partnership with Dallas’ iconic The Adolphus hotel comes at a kismet time,” says Scratch Restaurants Group co-owner and chef Phillip Frankland Lee in a statement.”
Sushi by Scratch’s debut at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas has been a massive success, selling out the first month within hours and accumulating a deep waitlist, according to a Dallas Observer article. They say,
“Nov. 30 Update: According to chef Phillip Frankland Lee’s Instagram, the first month of Sushi by Scratch at the Adolphus Hotel sold out in hours and the wait list is deep. “… to sell out the ENTIRE OPENING MONTH in mere hours, one week before opening day, with just over 1,000 people on the waitlist so far is making me emotional as I type this,” Lee writes on Instagram.
January reservations will open on Dec. 1 at noon.
