Dak Prescott’s Heartwarming Visit to Cancer Patients

Dak Prescott’s visits with cancer patients reflect his personal connection, having lost his mother to colon cancer a decade ago, according to a Dallas Morning News article. It reports,

“Peggy Prescott often shows up in someone’s smile or the glint in their eyes.

Other times, it’s the words people use to describe their pain or the defiant spirit they wield.

Dak Prescott lost his mother to colon cancer more than 10 years ago. He has spoken to her every day since.

On this afternoon, the Cowboys quarterback has made an appearance for the Children’s Cancer Fund and is on his way to visit guests at the American Cancer Society Gene and Jerry Jones Family Hope Lodge. The ride affords him a few minutes to reflect.”

Dak Prescott, an ambassador for the American Cancer Society, honors his late mother by supporting the Hope Lodge and raising cancer awareness, according to a NBCDFW article. As per the report,

“The American Cancer Society Gene and Jerry Jones Family Hope Lodge is saving lives by providing free, temporary lodging for cancer patients whose best chance for a cure is far from home. “It’s about giving these families true hope. And creating empathy,” Prescott said. “I think at the end of the day that’s what I want to do to honor and celebrate my mother.

Prescott lost his mother to colon cancer in 2013 and as an ambassador for the American Cancer Society, he works tirelessly off the field to raise awareness.”

Hope Lodge aids cancer patients traveling long distances for advanced treatments; Prescott advocates for more such facilities and supports the American Cancer Society’s broad patient support initiatives.
