Wan Kim, owner of JOA Korean BBQ, is set to unveil Nuri Steakhouse in Uptown this spring. Designed by AvroKO, the restaurant promises a luxurious ambiance, complemented by Chef Minji Kim’s diverse menu of prime meats, seafood, and curated drinks, according to a Paper City article. In it they say,
“The owner of JOA Korean BBQ (formerly Nuri Grill) is finally debuting Nuri Steakhouse in Uptown this spring. Announced in 2022, the elevated “East meets West” steakhouse has been a long time coming for restaurant veteran Wan Kim. “Our mission is to inspire people to embrace different cultures of the world. This steakhouse project has been a passion of mine for many years. I am thrilled to see it finally coming to life and look forward to bringing it to Dallas diners,” he says in a release.
The space was designed by AvroKO and features “an inviting main dining room and lounge area along with a large curved bar with an impressive wine cellar encasing the space.” Crafted by Michelin-recognized chef Minji Kim, the menu will include prime cuts of meat, seafood, and poultry, along with a wine and cocktail program.”
Chef Minji Kim collaboratively crafts the menu with guest feedback at their test kitchen, also home to JOA in Dallas’ Koreatown. Senior VP Jim Oboyski highlights the unique fusion of Korean, New Orleans, and Dallas inspirations in Nuri Steakhouse’s offerings, according to a Local Profile article. They report,
“Kim has taken the approach of creating the menu by allowing guests to give feedback and contribute to the menu at their test kitchen that currently operates as a full-service restaurant JOA , formerly Nuri Grill in Dallas’ Koreatown.
Senior VP of Operations, Jim Oboyski says, “Nuri Steakhouse is going to be unlike anything we currently have in Dallas. The menu our chefs are creating offers elevated cuisine drawing inspiration from the life of owner and creator Wan Kim – from Korea, to New Orleans and Dallas.””
Nuri Steakhouse in Uptown boasts a spacious 9500 sq ft design, accommodating 150 indoors and 50 outdoors. It offers a private dining space, located at 2401 Cedar Springs Rd, Suite 120, Dallas, TX 75201, opening in Spring 2024.
